As Director of Digital Strategy and International Business Development for Spain and Latin America at Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, Carmen Ospina is responsible for growing ebook, audiobook and print export sales throughout the world; building digital marketing tools and platforms to better reach the end consumer; and launching new businesses, which include an audiobook program, the self-publishing platform www.megustaescribirlibros.com, and the writing and editing online school www.escuelacursiva.com. Ospina was involved in the creation and launch of Libranda, Spain’s largest digital distributor, in conjunction with other major publishers, and sits in its board. Born in Colombia, she lived in New York City for eight years, during which she edited Críticas, a magazine created by Publishers Weekly and devoted to the Spanish-language book market in the US, and worked as a journalist for World Press Review and NY1 Noticias. She has lived in Barcelona since 2006.
