William Chesser leads worldwide Business Development at VitalSource, including market development, customer acquisition, and partner development for all non-North American higher education markets as well as corporate training and other adult learning segments. William also supervises all of VitalSource’s account management and onboarding teams. As one of the company’s founders, William has held a variety of senior positions in the company spanning sales and business development to product and operations and he has seen the company grow from a handful of people based in Raleigh, N.C., to almost 200 associates in multiple offices including Raleigh, Boston, San Mateo, Nashville and London. Prior to his arrival at VitalSource, William was a teacher-trainer at the School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he helped to create and implement whole-school reform programs in schools across North America. He received his BA in English from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and an MA in English Literature from North Carolina Central University.
