Chris Kluiters is a seasoned publishing professional with many years of commercial, contracting and licensing experience at VP/Executive level, at major STM publishers such as RELX/Elsevier and SpringerNature.
For more than ten years he was a trainer/study mentor on e-publishing for the (former) Dutch Book Trade organization VOB. Throughout his career he has built up a unique perspective on rights issues both in global as well as local/regional markets in SE Asia and Central Asia (India) with long stays in Asia. This experience relates to both rightsholders as well as their users.
Recently he completed the University of Liverpool’s Masters degree in Intellectual Property & Technology Law (LLM) with a specialization on Copyright, Text and Data mining (TDM) (fair use restrictions) and contract law. As a current Board member of the Dutch Open access Platform for legal commentaries and as former VP of the Dutch Legal internet startup Search Engine Rechtsorde he is also quite familiar in legal publishing.
In 2016 he started Allrightsonline.com, a boutique consultancy with a copyright compliancy footprint. Allrightsonline.com offers publishers help with their commercial, legal, operational and contractual challenges. The current partners have deep knowledge in areas such as third party licensing, Rights & Permissions, archival licensing and other Intellectual Property (IP) areas. AO executes audits for the ancillary revenue streams of publishers (licensing of text, images, data) and acts as outsource partner for Rights & Permissions. (www.allrightsonline.com).
